Counselling Shaped Around You

Thoughtful, collaborative counselling shaped around your experiences, values, relationships, and individual needs.

I draw from a range of counselling approaches, thoughtfully adapting our work to you rather than expecting you to fit into a single way of working. Together, we’ll explore what feels most helpful and meaningful for where you are.

You don’t need to arrive with the right words, a clear explanation, or even know exactly what you need.

You may be carrying anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, burnout, a major life change, or simply a sense that something no longer feels quite right.

My role is to meet you with compassion and curiosity, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, and support you in finding a way forward that feels meaningful to you.

At Olive Branch Counselling & Wellness, I practise from an integrative counselling approach, drawing from different evidence-informed therapeutic perspectives rather than relying on a single model.

This allows our work to be thoughtfully tailored to your needs, circumstances, goals, and stage of life.

At the heart of this approach are four key principles.

🌿 Understand Yourself

Explore your emotions, experiences, patterns, beliefs, and needs with greater curiosity and self-awareness.

🌿 Strengthen Relationships

Explore communication, connection, boundaries, and recurring patterns to support healthier relationships.

🌿 Develop Practical Skills

Build practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, difficult emotions, and everyday challenges with greater confidence.

🌿 Thrive with Hope

Gain greater clarity, resilience, and hope as you understand the past and move towards meaningful change.

Rather than expecting you to fit into one counselling model, I integrate different evidence-informed approaches depending on what will best support your journey.

Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy

“Healing begins when we reconnect with our authentic selves.”

A compassionate, experiential approach that explores how experiences, relationships, communication patterns, and sense of self shape the way we respond to challenges. It supports greater self-awareness, healthier communication, and meaningful personal and relational change.

Choice Theory & Reality Therapy

“Small choices can create meaningful change.”

A practical, collaborative approach that explores choices, behaviours, relationships, and what is within your control. It can help you identify more effective ways of meeting your needs and moving towards meaningful goals.

Family Therapy

“Relationships shape us—and can also help us heal.”

A systemic approach that looks at concerns within the wider context of relationships and family dynamics. It explores patterns of interaction and communication while supporting healthier, more constructive ways of relating.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

“Sometimes the solution begins with recognising your strengths.”

A strengths-based approach that focuses on what is already working, the resources you already have, and the small, achievable changes that can move you towards your preferred future.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

“Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are deeply connected.”

CBT explores the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It can help you recognise unhelpful patterns and develop more balanced ways of thinking, coping, and responding.

Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy (TIIP)

“Healing can involve the whole person — mind, heart, relationships, values, and faith.”

An integrative approach that recognises the role faith and spirituality can play in emotional wellbeing, meaning-making, relationships, and personal growth. When appropriate and welcomed by you, Islamic perspectives and values may be thoughtfully integrated alongside evidence-informed counselling approaches.

Beginning counselling can feel daunting, especially if it’s your first time speaking with a counsellor.

Our first session is simply a chance to get to know one another and understand what has brought you to counselling.

We’ll talk about:

  • What you’re currently experiencing
  • What you hope to gain from counselling
  • Any questions or concerns you may have

There is no expectation to share everything at once. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

As counselling progresses, each session is guided by your goals and what feels most important at that time.

Sessions may include:

  • Exploring emotions and experiences
  • Recognising recurring patterns
  • Improving communication and relationships
  • Developing practical coping strategies
  • Working towards meaningful personal goals

Some sessions may feel more reflective while others may be more practical. Both are valuable parts of the counselling process.

When you choose to work with me, you can expect:

🌿 A warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment.
🌿 Counselling tailored to your individual needs.
🌿 Respect for your culture, values, beliefs, and lived experiences.
🌿 A collaborative relationship where your voice and goals matter.
🌿 Thoughtfully integrated, evidence-informed therapeutic approaches.
🌿 Practical support that honours your pace and readiness for change.

If you wish, faith and spirituality can also be thoughtfully integrated into counselling in a respectful and meaningful way.

You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before beginning counselling.

You simply need a willingness to begin.

Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here.

It would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you move towards healing, growth, and meaningful change.

If you’re ready to explore a counselling approach tailored to your needs, you’re warmly invited to get in touch.
